the road...to the Eagles Mere Inn
Directions:
Leaving Hawley, travel Rt.590 west until it becomes Rt.348.
Continue on Rt.348 a short distance following the signs
to I-84 west. Take I-84 west to I-81 north. Continue north
on I-81 to the exits for Clarks Summit and Waverly. Take
Exit 197 for Waverly, Rt. 632. At the end of exit ramp turn
right onto Rt. 632. Continue on Rt. 632 to Dalton where
you pickup scenic and historic route 6. Follow Rt. 6 west
to Rt. 29 south in Tunkhannock. Turn left onto Rt.29 and
continue to Pikes Creek and Rt. 118 west. Turn right onto
Rt. 118 and head west to Red Rock and Rt. 487 north. Turn
right onto Rt.487 and drive into Ricketts Glen State Park.
Leaving the Park turn south on Rt. 487 and continue to Rt.
118. Turn right on to Rt. 118 going west for 8 miles. Turn
right onto Rt. 239 and head northwest for 5 miles. Rt. 239
becomes Rt. 42. Continue north on Rt.42 for 11 ½
miles. In Eagles Mere pass the Country Club and the Town
Clock near the shops. The second street to the right after
the shops is Mary Avenue. Turn right and go one block to
the Inn.

The Endless Mountains - 1 or

Mere, elevation 2,100 feet, in the "Endless Mountains"
of Northeastern Pennsylvania, was developed in the 1800's
as a resort for wealthy Philadelphians. They came to the
mountain for the cool clean air and crystal clear waters

the road...to The Inn at New Berlin
Directions:
Travel time to New Berlin is about 1 1/2 hours without stops.
Leaving Eagles Mere travel south on Rt.42 to Millville.
At Millville, turn right on to Rt.254 and head west to Washingtonville.
At Washingtonville, turn right onto Rt.54. Watch for the
right turn off of Rt. 54 and follow the signs to the Montour
Preserve. Leaving Montour Preserve return to Washingtonville
and Rt. 254 west. Continue west on Rt.254 to Rt.147 south.
Turn left onto Rt. 147 and travel south to Rt. 45 west/Lewisburg.
Turn right onto Rt. 45 and travel 4 miles beyond Lewisburg
on Rt.45. At the 4 mile point, take a left onto Dreisbach
Church Road (New Berlin Mountain Road) and continue five
miles into New Berlin. At the stop sign, turn right on Market
Street. The Inn at New Berlin is the second building on
your right...321 Market Street.

You won't find an antique shop
in New Berlin, but to quote the Philadelphia Inquirer you'll
