Pennsylvania Back
Roads & Country Inns - Antiques Itinerary-
From the Delaware Highlands, through the Endless Mountains,
to the Valleys of the Susquehanna...
Sit at a computer and tap the the search button, if you
will, but it's much more rewarding to search the treasures
of our regions by poking in the nooks and crannies of our
distinctive antique shops. Marvel at what you'll discover...from
an ole Cootie Game in its original box to Flow-Blue china
to a somewhat rusty parakeet cage used for housing candlelight
on a modern wicker porch!

The Settlers Inn, Hawley, Pennsylvania
Delaware Highlands and Pocono Mountains -
1 or 2 Days
Historic Hawley and The Settlers Inn
located on the Lackawaxen River offer the perfect intro
to antiquing in northeastern and central Pennsylvania.
The innkeepers soothing mission-style makeover
of this 1920's hotel stands in marked contrast to Hawley's
fun, eclectic, and garish Castle Antiques & Reproductions
that is the first-must-stop on this Pennsylvania antique
tour. But back at Settlers, there's no mistaking what's
real and what's not as you experience one of the finest
kitchens, some of the best hospitality, and a rapidly expanding
wine list.
Nearby, Lake Wallenpaupack and Pennsylvania
Pocono Mountains comprise an area of year-round natural
beauty and historical interest. From active sports to quiet
relaxation, the variety of activities in the area offers
something for everyone.
Staying at The Settlers Inn provides you a
convenient starting point to visit several unique antique
centers.

along the way.

Valleys of the Susquehanna - 1 or 2 Days
Although there are many antiques at The Inn
at New Berlin, you won't find an antique shop in New Berlin,
but to quote the Philadelphia Inquirer you'll find "A
luxurious base for indulging in a clutch of quiet pleasures”
Inn memories are made from the inviting front porch swing
to the herb garden where the restaurant’s seasonings
and garnishes are selected. Superb dining at Gabriel’s
Restaurant, coupled with romantic lodging, provides an uptown
experience in a rural setting.
Antiques shops are nearby and the innkeepers
will love to send you on one of their favorite antiquing
day trips in the Lewistown and State College area. This
outing comes complete with a great piece of peach pie!
