COOKING CLASSES
The Mercersburg Inn is proud to partner with the acclaimed L’ Academie De Cuisine of Bethesda, MD to present a series of culinary weekends throughout the year. Held Friday night through Sunday afternoon, the weekends feature two intensive cooking classes and (of course) fabulous meals. Cooking classes are held in the mornings, followed by a lunch featuring the results! Saturday night’s Chef’s Dinner is a wonderful gala event.

GOURMET DINNERS
Lauded by guests and critics alike, our restaurant offers delectable evening meals prepared by our CIA-trained executive chef Jerry Howerin. Recently profiled in Gourmet magazine, Jerry is truly an artist in the kitchen. Visit us Thursday-Sunday and savor a memorable meal in front of the fire in our beautiful, wood-paneled dining room.

HEAVENLY BEDS
Each of our 15 bed and breakfast rooms features a plush feather bed with 320-thread-count Egyptian linens and mounds of soft pillows. Even with our delectable breakfasts to look forward to, you’ll have a hard time getting out of our divine beds in the morning!

HISTORICAL LOCATIONS
The site of many civil war incursions – including the famed Stuart’s raid -- and the birthplace of president James Buchanan, Mercersburg is a picturesque town with lovely, preserved homes and business structures dating back 250 years. The inn is also within 45 minute’s drive of famous civil war locations: Antietam, Gettysburg, and Harper’s Ferry.

SKIING
Less than 10 minute’s drive from the inn is Whitetail, the best ski resort in the Mid-Atlantic. Nineteen super-wide slopes spill down the resort’s 935 foot vertical drop (the biggest vertical anywhere close!), and the high-speed chair lifts whiz skiers up the mountain for a day packed full of runs. Whether you dream of a romantic ceremony in the gardens, an outdoor gala under a lighted tent, or an intimate gathering around the fireplace, The Mercersburg Inn provides endless possibilities for your Wedding day. We can accommodate groups of up to 130 during the summer for a sit-down dinner (up to 175 for hors d'oeuvres and cocktails) and up to 100 during the winter depending on the type of setup desired.
