EASTON

THE
LAFAYETTE INN
This 1895 mansion, built as a private residence
during the heyday of Easton's industrial growth, served as
a fraternity house for two decades until about 1980. Located
just two blocks from the Lafayette College campus, The Inn
offers the most convenient and distinctive accommodations
on College Hill.
Whether relaxing with a magazine alongside the
fire, or playing your favorite tune on the grand piano, the
antique filled lounge is a comfortable setting for meeting
with friends or pondering the plans for tomorrow. The lounge
makes a tastefully pleasing location for a rehearsal dinner,
private party, or business meeting.
EDUCATIONAL
INTERESTS
The Lafayette Inn is less than two blocks
off the campus of Lafayette College. The region is blessed
with a number of other highly rated colleges and universities
such as Lehigh University, Muhlenberg College, and Moravian
College. The National Canal Museum offers insights into a
by-gone era of transportation, while the Trexler-Lehigh Game
Preserve satisfies the explorer of the Natural Wild. The intrigue
of Colonial America is evident in Easton's Historic District
(the Easton Library has on display the Stars and Stripes which
pre-dates Betsy Ross' version) and Bethlehem's Moravian Historic
District boasts 18th Century buildings still in use. A tour
of the Crayola Factory and the Weller Center for Health Education
is a must see experience for children and adults as is the
Martin Guitar Company of Nazareth.
ENTERTAINMENT
The choices for outdoor activities in the
Lehigh Valley will satisfy fun-seekers of all ages. Mule Drawn
Canal Boat Rides on the Lehigh River compliment a tour of
the National Canal Museum or, if that's too slow for your
liking, try the Steel Force Roller Coaster at Dorney Park
and Wild Water Kingdom, one of the biggest and fastest on
the east coast. Seasonal attractions such as the Lehigh Valley
Air Show, the Great Allentown Fair, the Celtic Classic Festival,
as well as Bethlehem's Musikfest all have something for everyone.
Explore the mysteries of Lost River Caverns or the vineyards
and wineries of Bucks County. Some of the best in big name
entertainment can be found at the State Theatre Center for
the Arts in downtown Easton. |
