LITITZ,
PA INNS
| LITITZ
has been called "the jewel of Lancaster County."
A quiet town, in the midst of rolling farmland and scattered
developments, Lititz has great ties to history. Founded
in 1756 by missionaries of the Moravian church, it is
home to the oldest girls' boarding school in the nation,
a site used as a hospital in the Revolutionry War, the
country's first commercial pretzel bakery, the Wilbur
Chocolate Factory, the Heritage Map Museum, and many other
places of interest. A highlight is the Lititz Springs
Park at the center of town, the site for many community
activities as well as several renowned art, crafts, and
antique shows - such as the Village Art Association show,
the Rotary Club Craft Show, and an annual antique show.
After feeding the ducks at the park's springs of clear
limestone water, enjoy a stroll through the quaint shops
of Main Street to feel like you have stepped back in time.
